ICFC Announces New Sporting Director - Nicholas Lines
June 16, 2026
We are excited to announce the appointment of Nicholas Lines, our current Director of Coaching in Charleston, to the position of Sporting Director here at Impact City FC.
As the Sporting Director, Nic will work to enhance player development across all Impact City locations through the continual creation, implementation, and improvement of our unified club philosophy, methodology, and curriculum. He will also provide oversight to each location’s Director of Coaching, ensuring that our coaching staff continues to provide exceptional care and remarkable quality as we move towards becoming the best soccer ministry in the world.
Nic has a variety of experience in both soccer and ministry, spending over 15 years in pastoral ministry. He initially started as a youth worker and then went on to establish a youth charity in the United Kingdom, working to serve at-risk young people before moving to New York City to help plant a church.
On the soccer side, Nic has been involved in the game for over 30 years as a player, fan, and coach! He started his journey playing through the academy teams at Bishops Stortford before playing for multiple Saturday league teams, finishing his playing days with Dunmow Rhodes in the UK.
Coming to the U.S. as a church planter gave him the unique opportunity to coach with a New York Red Bulls Academy affiliate before coming to ICFC. For the past three and half years, Nic has served as the Director of Coaching for our Impact City location in Charleston. Since joining in 2023, he has grown the club from 0 players to over 200 players across 18 competitive club teams. During this time, Nic has overseen the development of over 1,400 players across the greater Charleston area through our variety of teams, programs, and outreach.
Nic embodies our core value of being growth-oriented having completed the USSF B and Club Technical Leadership Licences as well as pursuing a UEFA B License this summer. In this time, He has played a critical role in developing our current curriculum and game model across all locations.
When asked about Nic’s impact since joining ICFC in 2023, our Founder and President, Aaron DeLoach had this to say, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Nic stepping into a greater leadership role here at ICFC. He understands who we are, he’s faithfully committed to growth through licensing, and he carries the heart of a pastor into each of our environments. We will be better as an organization because of the role Nic will play as our Sporting Director.”
Nic will begin as the Sporting Director on July 1st, and will remain interim Director of Coaching in Charleston as we continue to look for the right person to fill that role. To reach out to Nic, you can shoot him an email nlines@impactcityfc.com.
