Cary, North Carolina – June 5th

‍Last summer, four of our Directors of Coaching (DOC's)bparticipated in a globally recognized 7v7 tournament in Cary, North Carolina, known as The Soccer Tournament (TST).

‍

The tournament, held every June since 2023, provides an opportunity for 48 men's teams and 16 women's teams to compete in a round robin formatted tournament in hopes of winning a $1,000,000 grand prize. Players such has Sergio Agüero, Hope Solo, Carli Lloyd, and Heather O'Reilly have competed at TST, while teams such as Wrexham, West Ham United, Borussia Dortmund and the USWNT elevate the summer competition to a standard of quality football that fans have come to love and experience at TST.

Four of our DOC's, Chandler Hoffman (Salt Lake City), Nikita Kotlov (Indianapolis), Erick Okampo (St. Louis), and Jean Alexandre (South Florida) represented Impact City FC on their respective teams, while also making it to the knockout stage of the tournament.

On day one of the tournament, 7 out of the 8 games were won that our ICFC staff participated in. 3 goals and 3 assists were recorded on the day for our coaches, and players and fans alike got the opportunity to see the Serie A and Premier League trophies! Not to mention, Mo Ali and Chad Ochocinco were also in attendance. Day two was full of it's own excitement! All four of our DOC's advanced to the knockout stages, providing valuable goals and minutes along the way. Summers in Cary will have you refilling water bottles and reapplying sunscreen nonstop, but for the athletes on the field, you'd never guess they were battling such heat during this 6-day soccer festival in North Carolina. And who could forget the presence of the UEFA Champions League runner-ups, Borussia Dortmund, a Manchester City supported team led by Sergio Agüero, and hardware from the biggest leagues on the planet.

The final results of the tournament saw La Bombonera take home the grand prize of $1,000,000. Having our DOC's take part in this elite soccer tournament was a valuable experience for our players to witness their coaches play at a high level against some of the world's best players. We're thrilled to have such quality coaches pouring into our youth and living out the skills and disciplines they desire to instill in our players.
